RunBrook's Role

RunBrook can provide strategic guidance to determine whether FGBC, or another rating system such as LEED or NGBS is best for your project and goals. If FGBC is right for your project, then as an FGBC Certifying Agent, RunBrook can guide designers and builders through the process of qualifying and documenting single-family homes and multi-family buildings. Our specialists will also organize required and suggested submittals to be sent with your FGBC application and help you streamline the process of obtaining an FGBC Green Home Designation certificate.

About the FGBC and its green home standard

The Florida Green Building Coalition (FGBC) is a nonprofit Florida corporation dedicated to improving the built environment. FGBC's mission is "to provide a statewide green building program that defines, promotes, and encourages sustainable efforts with environmental and economic benefits." FGBC was conceived and founded in the belief that green building programs will be most successful if there are clear and meaningful principles on which "green" qualification and marketing are based. The video below explains their mission:

The FGBC Green Home Standard is applicable to single-family homes and multi-family buildings 3 stories or under. The FGBC Green Home Standard indicates the criteria by which a Florida home, new or existing, can be designated green. Certifying Agents can guide designers, builders or homebuyers through the process of qualifying and documenting green homes, using the FGBC's Florida Green Home Standard Checklist and Reference Guide.

After the home has been evaluated using the checklist and reference guide, the Certifying Agent will organize a packet of all the required and suggested submittals to be sent with the application. The application package will be reviewed for compliance and if there are any questions the Certifying Agent will be contacted. Upon certification, the Certifying Agent will be mailed an FGBC Green Home Designation certificate for distribution to the project owner.

The video below explains why the FGBC may be a good choice for certain projects:
